Geoff Akehurst speaks to Defence IQ prior to Exhibition

Geoff Akehurst, Sales Manager for EASAT speaks to Defence IQ's Bryan Camoens on the challenges in achieving maritime coastal surveillance and the latest innovations from the company.
Defence IQ: What emphasis does EASAT have on coastal surveillance?
Geoff Akehurst: Our focus for coastal surveillance has always been the ability to provide a good and reliable radar sensor which is able to perform well in a range of weather conditions. It is important to remember that radar detection of small targets is not necessarily difficult in good weather at short ranges but however, when the conditions deteriorate to heavy rainfall and higher sea state conditions, detection becomes much of a greater challenge. Our key aim is to provide a radar sensor which will give the end user the longest range of radar detection possible from a commercial product.
