Tunable Anti-Vibration Mounts
|
Easat's EA7401M and EA6501 Linear Array antennas entered service with an anti-vibration mount system that has proven successful on many sites. Several sites comprising of towers with modern suspended design Visual Control Rooms continued to pose different problems associated with the interaction between the natural frequencies of the tower system and that of the rotating antenna. As a result, late in 2003, Easat introduced into standard build a modified installation arrangement and new materials for the anti-vibration mounts. This has proven extremely successful. The noise transmitted to the operators in the VCR or Tower CAB is dependant on many factors, most importantly the tower and support construction and the anti-vibration mounts. Easat has continued research into the design and use of new materials to further improve isolation of the antenna system with the result that a new, improved Anti-Vibration kit (ref EA11236) is offered as a Standard Option for retrofit specifically aimed at reducing noise and vibration in sensitive mounting positions i.e. on a VCR tower (Tower Cab). |
