Equipment Cabins and Shelters

Easat provides the cabins/shelters that house the equipment needed for the antenna to work to the best of its ability. Also, protects the equipment from all kinds of weather and damage. The cabin/shelter that accompanies the antenna sits very closely to the antenna, so the equipment is easily stored safely into the cabins. The cabins/shelters can be used on coastal borders, airfields and are fully transportable, so they can be easily moved around.

The equipment room will be located on already existing pre-cast concrete foundation and secured to this location with holding down bolts. The roof is of suppliers' standard design.

The equipment room is an air conditioned room that is controlled to maintain the room temperature at approximately 22°C using an air conditioning system. The units are operated via an air conditioning control panel which provides power to the units and fault indication.

The room is internally illuminated with five off fluorescent strip lights. An emergency light is located internally to the side of the main and emergency doors and illuminate only on mains power failure.

Floor is a smooth surfaced construction fitted with a washable vinyl surface of acid resistant, and non-slip surface. The floor is structurally reinforced to enable the transport of cabin with interior equipment in situ.

The UPS module and UPS battery system are floor mounted. Under floor reinforcing steelwork is installed to accommodate the heavy loads of the battery cabinet. The UPS bypass panel which is used for maintenance purposes is wall mounted in close proximity to the UPS module.

The equipment room also contains inverter for motor control, fire alarm panel, intruder alarm panel, waveguide dehydrator and safety switch.

Equipment room is to be suitably insulated with a k factor = 0.023W/m and fitted with a single hinged outward opening door together with an outward opening emergency exit compliant with UK Health and Safety regulations. Both doors are flush mounted with floor and fitted with corrosion resistant door handles. The door is sealed with a neoprene gasket.
